Jamie
Breaux Hoopes
Jamie was blessed with beauty.
She was talented and imaginative with great compassion
for God’s lesser creatures.
Jamie was strong in times of trial.
She was resolved in her love of friends and family
and was grateful to GOD for the people in her life
that were at her side.
Jamie was a Good Person.
BEAUTY
Her beauty was apparent at birth, undeniably feminine,
truly a little girl.
Jamie’s Mimi recalls those long eyelashes from
which Jamie’s beautiful eyes radiated.
Her mother Kim would be constantly approached by others
to have another glimpse of her precious baby with
the captivating eyes.
It is the family’s wish that I inform you that
Jamie’s eyes were found to be healthy and will
be received this week by someone awaiting the precious
gift of sight.
TALENTS
As a child, Jamie’s imaginative spirit emerged
and she enjoyed getting together with the “girl”
cousins to play “Anne of Green Gables”.
On our Thanksgiving and Easter camping trips, she
would organize little skits to be performed by all
of the kids.
Jamie was also musically talented. This talent she
got from her dad. She learned to play the clarinet
and earned first chair in just her freshman year.
Her parents were so proud of her for this accomplishment.
COMPASSION
Janie was NOT a selfish child. One cousin recalls
that she always shared her beloved collection of Grand
Champion Horses. The toy ones. They all had names
and stories and, of course, “out-fits”.
Her compassion for animals is like that of her mom,
Kim. Jamie’s compassion for animals was so great
that she would have taken in every stray animal on
the street. Even the ugly ones.
Jamie had a compassion for gardening. She would even
feel bad for the sick plants at the office and would
take them home to nurse them back to health.
DEVOTION
TO FAMILY AND FRIENDS
Friends and family meant a lot to Jamie. She kept
in touch with all of her school friends and included
them in her wedding.
She was a self proclaimed “Daddy’s Girl”.
Rocky Raccoon was their song.
She will always be “Sissy” to her brother
Andy and as he entered into adulthood, their bond
grew stronger.
Her grandparents Paw Paw and Maw Maw together with
Mimi and Dee held a special place in her heart. “I
love you” will be the words they will miss from
her.
STRENGTH
Although her walk through this life was short and
in many ways yet to be fulfilled, Jamie experienced
a life that was real.
Jamie had Real Joys and she experienced Real Pain.
There were painful times in her life with enormous
challenges, but she proved that she had the courage
to persevere. I believe courage is a beauty that often
goes unnoticed.
Those who knew Jamie know that one of her most joyful
times was when she and Brad planned for their wedding.
Taking family photos with Christian was an important
part of that special time. She was truly filled with
happiness which was captured in her many pictures.
We recently spoke of her Disney Honeymoon trip to
the Florida Keys. It was a time she long awaited for
and in many ways she felt a great sense of personal
achievement.
And on that day she was a “Princess”
She also took a lot of pride in redecorating her family
home. She took delight in decorating and celebrating
Christmas.
These were the simple blessings that made her happy.
Most of all, Jamie was blessed to have her son Christian.
To see Jamie, you need only to look into his eyes.
Christian,
we dedicate this blessing to you.
An
Irish Blessing by Unknown Author
I wish you not a path devoid
of clouds,
nor a life on a bed of roses,
Nor that you might never need regret,
nor that you should never feel pain.
No, that is not my wish for
you.
My wish for you is this:
That you might be brave in
times of trials,
When others lay crosses upon your shoulders.
When mountains must be climbed and chasms are to be
crossed;
When hope can scarce shine through.
That every gift God gave you might grow along with
you.
And let you give the gift of joy to all who care for
you.
That you may always have a
friend who is worth that name.
Whom you can trust,
and help you in times of sadness.
Who will defy the daily storms of life at your side.
One more wish I have for you.
That in every hour of joy or pain you may feel God
close to you.
This is my wish for you, and
for all who care for you.
This
is my hope for you now and forever.
